An itch scratched…

I propose a more general theorem, to which I believe the above a corollary:

‘Tis better to have itched and scratched
Than never to have itched at all.

Consider:

A weekend spent fixing something broken is more satisfying than a weekend spend idle – with nothing broken.

  1. A weekend spent fixing something broken is more satisfying than a weekend spend idle – with nothing broken.
i did idle – with nothing broken – it was fun.

  2. Speaking for myself, I find Idling is essential in order to relax and recharge, but once it has done its job, it starts to feel somehow empty. Were that weekend a decade, what then?
On another side – did you *really* idle? Did you not gain education, develop opinions, build friendships or mature a little?
PS I think you can consider building as ‘repairing’ – fixing your reality to more closely match your hopes and dreams.
Is boredom not the lack of things to repair, or else the lack of means to repair them?
